Let us, each of us, write things that are uncategorizable, rather than something that panders to and condones and codifies those categories.
I've never read anything by Claire Vaye Watkins before and stumbled on this essay quite by chance. She's a wonderful writer and I like this essay a lot mainly for speaking her mind about writing and writers in a candid but illuminating way.
Reminds me of another writer - Arundhoti Roy who has a similar writing style.
